Girls Gymnastics

 

 This program is designed for girls ages 6 and over, level 1-excel. Our competitive curriculum will follow USAG guidelines for routines and include learning skills on vault, bars, beam and floor. Our recreational curriculum will include learning skills on vault, bars, beam and floor. We allow all gymnast level 2 and up to become a part of the competitive program additional fees apply.

 

Level 1 Girls Gymnastics


Key skills:

Floor: ¾ handstand, cartwheel, front and back roll, candlestick and split jump
Vault: Straight jump onto 16” mat and kick up to handstand fall to flat back
Beam:Stretch and tuck jump, arabesque, T position, dismount from kneel on one leg to part handstand
Bars: Pullover, cast, back hip circle, straddle on circle dismount

 

Level 2 Girls Gymnastics

 

Requirements:

Floor: Handstand with legs together, hurdle round off, back roll to pike stand, candlestick to bridge kick over, forward chasses, straight leg leap and split jump
Vault: Jump to handstand onto 16” mat stack
Beam: Swing to push up, arabesque >30 degrees, lever to beam, pivot turn, cartwheel to handstand dismount
Bars: Pullover, back hip circle, single leg cut, basket swing, cut back, squat on or pike dismount

 

Level 3 Girls Gymnastics

 

Requirements:

All level 2 Requirements
Floor: Split jump, stretch jump, handstand forward roll, handstand bridge kick over, straight arm back roll to push up, forward split and round off back handspring
Vault: Jump to handstand onto minimum of 32” stack mat
Beam: Leg swing to cross sit, arabesque >45 degrees, straight leg leap >90 degrees, cross handstand with legs in split, ½ heel turn snap, cartwheel to side handstand
Bars: Glide swing, pullover and front hip circle

 

Level 4 Girls Gymnastics

 

Requirements:

All level 3 Requirements
Floor: Straddle jump 120 degrees, ½ turn jump, front handspring, back walkover, back extension roll straight arm, split, round off two back handsprings
Vault: Handstand over table
Beam: Cartwheel, arabesque > 45 degrees lift to scale, straight leg leap, handstand hold 1 second, split jump 120 degrees
Bars: Kip, cast to horizontal, squat on, long hang kip, tap swing and tap swing with ¼ turn

 

Excel Girls Gymnastics

These are optional level gymnastics routines. The coach as well and the gymnast will choreograph her routine following the USAG guidelines. All below skills must be mastered. 

Requirements:

All level 3 Requirements
Floor: Straddle jump 150 degrees, full turn, front handspring front handspring, front somi, switch leap, and round off back handspring back somi
Vault: Front handspring
Beam: cartwheel, back walkover, back handspring on low beam, straight leg leap 150 degrees, handstand 2 seconds, split jump 150 degrees, full turn
Bars: Kip, cast to horizontal, clear hip, squat on, long hang kip, long hang pullover and fly away

 

Skills Girls Gymnastics

This program is designed for any child who will be competing in three or more sanctioned USAG competitions for the season. Children will be challenged to be working on skills that are designated for their next level.
